The noise you may be referring to is coming from the input shaft bearing or the release (throw out) bearing and for the most part it is normal. I have had a whine from the trans (A568) with the clutch released since the car was new. Depressing the clutch pedal makes the noise stop. Fuel vapors vent through it into the vapor canister. Whether you plug it or leave it open won't affect your tank capacity. Then the cheap turbo is fine. just don't get huge with a single turbo. A 60 trim T04E or B with a turbine near 1.0 AR is fine. The hybrid uses a T3 turbine, too small for a V8. Most Holsets are also smaller T3 housings, for a Diesel that also works on a little 4 ... Injesting oil and vapors can only reduce the fuels octane, never increase it. Oil in the intercooler and Engine air intake system originates with the PCV. I eliminate the PCV on our Engines as a detonation safety measure .
